If you ever rant to me about how much AI is affecting you as well, there is never a need to apologize. I am always here to listen. 💚
Maybe the most harmful thing about LLMs for a learning community is that you won't learn about anything unrelated to what you asked for.
I do not generally post stuff anywhere, particularly because I do not want to spend my energy locking horns with strangers while living in a dystopia. However, reading Adam's latest post here androidessence.com/leave-me-beh... really struck a chord. Excerpt from the post:
Thanks so much for featuring my blog post, Leave Me Behind. I'm so thrilled to hear how much that has resonated with people this week. 💚
As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.
People hate AI. In fact the trend is that more people hate AI over time and it's not slow. The numbers are clear: if you think AI is the future then *you're* the one in the echo chamber

I think AI ultimately increases cognitive load. Instead of an implementation I can already do, I wait for AI to write and then read from scratch. Previously, we understood it while writing it.
