There is mixed reaction to newly introduced First Nations water legislation, but chiefs in Alberta are mincing no words with their take on the bill.
They are condemning the Carney government’s decision to bring forward Bill C-37, saying the approach is a dishonourable step backwards.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith fired back at First Nations chiefs for accusing her of treason saying it was "disgraceful." The chiefs voted unanimously at a Calgary meeting to call for an RCMP investigation into Smith and the UCP on a fall separatism vote.
