We're doing a research dig at the Viking site at Woodstown Waterford, with support from @ria.ie, @nationalmons.bsky.social and Waterford City & County Council, in a collaborative project between Irish & Norwegian archaeologists
First day on site at Glendalough for our @ucdarchaeology.bsky.social training excavation. Only 40 (FORTY!!) people on site today. Great progress - in rather mixed weather, ending up with our first trowelling lines of the season. And one piece of medieval ceramic before the end of the day as well...

An interesting day at Glendalough...a Revd John Wesley Methodist plate was not on my list of expected finds... C19 Methodist Chapel near(ish) in Rathdrum. Or possible link to C19 Cornish miners in the area.?
