Shoutout to my dad who listened to me read out loud daily as I was drafting my first original novel! He has a CD of the one I wrote and recorded myself reading my first year of college, and he gets all rough drafts as soon as I write THE END (and has never complained about typos).

Hello #QueerWritersChat! I’m Rebecca and I always have too many irons in the fire. Today I finished editing a thriller I’ll self-publish later this year, and I’ve been working on research for a nonfiction book due to my academic publisher in October.
THE GAPS ARE THE MEANING
Honestly it was probably Dad listening to me (very 15 at the time) and my princess love triangle story (it took me a while to switch to thrillers) and just making the time to listen without criticizing. He made that space back then and he’s still always eager for the next one.
