all that being said, while i /don't like/ burnham and i think his behaviour speaks to being a shady, mendacious individual, /if/ his bizarre charisma manages to stabilise labour just enough to derail the reform train, paradoxically that makes challenging labour from the left /more/ costless

It's one of those things that really bears more weight (and I think would be more helpful in a lot ot Labour's soul-searching: their stakeholders are and indeed always have been women, and their pursuit of wwc men or terfism doesn't help in that demographic)
Will say that, anecdotally, it felt to me that Goodwin's history of misogynistic comments cut through in Gorton and Denton too. I remember hearing that there was a surprising amount of anti Goodwin content coming from usually non political personal Instagram accounts of young women.
