Folks saying there are still indies out there making good games - I hear you, you're right, there definitely are
But those indies are gonna have to rely more than ever on word of mouth to get their games out of the muck - please please please share any gems you find!
Lemme tell ya, as someone who grew up with detailed help manuals built into everything at the touch of the F1 key,
it still floors me that acceptable went from that, to help online (good luck if your issue is "no network"), to only the most scant of troubleshooting pages.
The real issue is how fast slop gets made. There's *so much*, and it's not even interesting-bad like handmade garbo.
I don't mind digging through piles of garbage to find the good shit
But I really hate sifting through *a mountain* of grimey plastic, and only coming up with 2 demos - this sucks.
NextFest has become a spotlight on how bad the problem is, tbh.
I used to love exploring it, looking for the weird and the obscure - playing those little hand crafted gems most folks wouldn't even dig deep enough to see.
Now it's so diluted with slop they're near impossible to hunt down.
Can't have a couple guys without like 2 days before my brain does stuff like this to 'em, lmao
YUUUUUUP
Let alone that this is called The Steam Controller - Not "Steam Con 2" or anything - while the old version has been retroactively renamed (2015)
So on top of there being basically no official documentation, there is also a wealth of info about a different device with the exsct same name, lmao

The crow is always on the lookout for *something* and the giraffe wears goggles so his partner doesn't scratch the hell out of his eyes.
Throws this into my grand vault of Self-Insert AUs I'll never talk about and walks away
