Here's a thread of ICE agents dragging people out of their cars to assault and beat them down:
cops get busted all the time for querying law enforcement databases for creep purposes. So naturally we gave them a better creep tool.
βWeβre making used car salesmen as a class but for concentration campsβ is a lot more banal but also descriptively useful
Mistral: MIT license, except for rich people, you guys pay us.
Anthropic: oh, you're doing an undergrad paper on linear regression? How about we silently sabotage you in case you're secretly Alibaba.
have been watching this lady shove a tundra V8 into a 70s Celica for a while, good general use car reviews too.
i don't think silently sabotaging competition counts as a "safeguard"
i hate safetyist language being used everywhere to justify every privacy violation or authoritarian overreach or straight up self-interest
just own what you are doing without pretending it is for me and everyone else's benefit
Small towns that were doomed to die off βrevitalizedβ around having local CPB/ICE operating offices and police departments now receiving multi-million dollar federal grants, etc so on. Someone has to man the internal checkpoint from Presidio, after all etc.
I was explaining this to our congressional candidate the other day at the bar. The entire economy of the southern border for the smallest towns and medium cities alike has been transformed such that anywhere from around 1/3 to > 1/2 of local employment is predicated off of DHS and downstream funds
Intentional sleep deprivation is a form of torture
Anyway, Republicans see this and stuff like CoreCivic/GEO opening up new camps in dying towns and saw a model that would help give life support to any dying white majority rural county, not just in Texas but in Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, etc.
Anyway, a Garrison state of used car barons is the goal.
