UCD Library is delighted to host an exhibition showcasing UCD Research’s 2025 ‘Images of Research’ competition. Competition entrants were invited to submit an image that showcased the diversity of research across UCD and offer accessible, thought-provoking insights into complex research topics.
Happy Pride!!!🏳️‍🌈 Did you know that UCD Library has access to the Gale: Archives of Sexuality and Gender!! With material dating back to the sixteenth century, this archive contains primary sources for the historical study of sex, sexuality, and gender. You can access this resource through OneSearch!

The winning image, alongside a selection of the 23 runner-s up, can be viewed on Level 3 of the James Joyce Library. All exhibition panels feature a dedicated QR code that will further explain the story behind the image in detail. The exhibition will be on display until the end of September.

The overall winner ‘Reclaimed & Reimagined: Later-Life Women in the Archive’, by Dr Katherine Fama, UCD School of English, Drama and Film, exposes portrayals of women’s aging in the nineteenth century archive at Winterthur Library and Museum.
We are also proud to showcase an image submitted by Dr Elizabeth Mullins, UCD School of History, featuring one of the oldest manuscripts held in UCD Library.
