Second performance of Judge Smith's Requiem Mass with choir, brass and band happened on Saturday, and according to all reports, was even better than the first one! Great picture here by Sean Kelly... #vdgg
Following the release of The Kibbo Kift - the archival 1976 rock musical by VdGG co-founder Judge Smith and Maxwell Hutchinson - there's been some great coverage, inc this piece by Michael Björn in Shindig. Here's the excellent taster video for it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GovW... 1/2
Woop, haven't seen this before, Sounds's review of In Search Of Space, published 20 November 1971 - over a month after it had been released/reviewed in Melody Maker. Strange, but not unusual in those days. Still, it's a decent, positive write-up by Martin Hayman. 1/2

This is very much worth a read... "bands are essentially social experiments, and solo artists are just boring old humans who can sing and write music."

And now on The Progressive Rock Show, the second episode of our monthly dip into the Peter Hammill back catalogue, and this time we're listening to and talking about 1990's Out Of Water. Listen here from 1:00:57 - progzilla.com/the-progress... 1/2
And you can buy it here: www.thinklikeakey.com/release/5757... 2/2
While Hawkwind certainly had more than their fair share of negative press, most of their coverage pre-'Silver Machine' was actually reasonably positive. It was from around 1974 onwards that the knives really came out. 2/2
Oh, and here's that YT link to the album if you don't already own a copy... www.youtube.com/watch?v=pltb... 2/2

I have managed to get a big picture of Crass into the Financial Times magazine which is probably a first? Here is my Experts in a Dying Field-adjacent essay on bands as "utopian projects" www.ft.com/content/c902...
