And that’s even before the Jared Leto factor - a VERY GOOD reason NOT to pay to see this movie, but probably not the reason it bombed. I didn’t even know he was in it until recently. It bombed for a very old fashioned reason: there are good movies in theaters right now. People want new stuff.

you cannot have a decent experience of art if your primary focus is on whether it was "made for" you rather than what it means to you you will not get cooties from a "boy book" or a "girl book." even if you are a woman or a man respectively.
