Ah, yes. The Corruption Lands. Once beautiful, now infested and twisted by naked greed.

some people in my hometown are trying to help, it seems, by posting answers to questions they're asking AI about what's going on (even if just Google's summary or Microsoft copilot, not claude or gpt) and it speaks to how invasive this trash is they don't seem to be aware that's what they're doing
10% of your development timeline should be set aside after launch for crying. Post-launch depression is real.
We’ve never read a justification for GenAI use in video games that didn’t sound like flailing after their hand got caught in the jar. “Oh we don’t use it for assets so it doesn’t count.” “It makes our lives easier.” “We’re still 100% human created.” Running through the greatest hits to stop scrutiny
i know I'm preaching to the choir here but it confuses me that I sometimes encounter people ok with games using AI for coding such that it frees up developers for "more creative tasks"
coding *is* part of the creative process? like what are you going on about, that's a creative skill!
"genAI preproduction art was mistakenly left in the release" is the new "no copyright infringement intended"
just because it doesn't innately produce pretty pictures on a canvas does not make it not a creative skill? many parts of a game's design big and small are found in the process of trying to code something into existence. it's not as rigid as solving problems from a math textbook or somesuch.
