3D > 2D for patellar instability š¦µ
Our new study in OJSM introduces 3D-PASS, a score that describes patellar instability severity using 3D anatomical data and is capable of predicting patient outcomes
Higher 3D-PASS <> worse predicted outcomes

Key finding: Relative bone position matters most. 3D positions of the patella and tibia relative to the femur correlated strongly with 1-year nonoperative patient-reported outcomes.
Surprisingly, traditional 2D imaging measures and 3D bone shape were not correlated with outcomes!
