A slow wander around the drift was a bee kind of wander. The brambles were full of insects (a rare treat) & we're thinking we've got Red-tailed Cuckoo Bee, Vestal Cuckoo Bee & Yellow-legged Mining Bee (Andrena flavipes). Very enjoyable mooching 🐝

Spanish Catchfly living up to its name in the Brecks this afternoon! This unfortunate Pollenia(?) species was stuck fast against the plant's sticky stem.
A wonderful afternoon spent exploring the Brecks prod'd several of the local specialities, including Tawny Wave, Oblique Striped, Breckland Plume, & Thisanotia chrysonuchella #TeamMoth
I encountered several of the Breckland plant specialities during my afternoon wanderings, including the delicate greenish stems of Spanish Catchfly, the amazingly spikey seeds of Bur Medick, & the papery bracts of Proliferous Pink at one of its few UK sites.

A delightful, dainty little moth dancing from flower to flower, looking like a teeny butterfly. A Marsh Pug seen at Felbrigg Hall, and a first for us.
