If you support libraries for this reason but don't support sex workers for the same reason you don't actually understand how important either are, nor how related both of these things are to each other. Not all safe spaces are quiet, polite, and respectable. But they're still safe. And necessary.
As the inimitable Janelle Monáe sang, everything is sex, except sex, which is power. You know, power is just sex. Now ask yourself who's screwin' you. And like, sure. But y'know what else is both sex AND power? Relationships. I welcome the horny texts but I also get pretty hot for the sappy ones!
If you go out with someone and they don't smile a little bit about getting wet from the rain, don't fuck them. —John Waters, probably
I know it's kind of fallen out of fashion amongst my people, but I still think it's okay to be a trans woman and like men. Yes, even during Pride. And I'm not even saying this just to be contrarian. I just think you should stick to the ones who actually treat you well. It's worked for me, anyway.
Not really a subtweet or anything. Just kinda feel like somebody somewhere needs to hear this. (Maybe me 5 years ago, actually.) Anyway it's Pride so I promise I'll tone down the straight shit and turn up the bisexual energy enough to not get cancelled or anything but I'm just not a lesbian. Sorry.
Earlier this week at a private hacker event one of the speakers asked me why trans women are so overrepresented in cybersecurity. I said, "hacking isn't just about breaking in to systems. It's also about breaking out of them. And the trans people still alive today have been doing that since birth."
Every day with a "d" in it is a good day to beat back a fascist. This was a real popular pastime before 1944, too. Just sayin'.
