Which, look. The one thing that a lot of people who don't spend time around hunters don't often realize is that conservation is actually kind of a big deal for a lot of hunting groups. But. All that aside, the point is that although they are sold for hunting licensing purposes
So hunters buy them to show they've put in their fee to federal fish & wildlife and are allowed to go duck hunting (assuming they have the other licenses, etc). What I also didn't know is you can just buy them because you like stamps with duck pictures on them.
This is super cool and I am going to say more things about duck stamps, just not directly attached to a quote post. The short version is that duck stamps fund conservation of US wetlands. *waggling fingers and skittering to his own feed*
