I would hazard to guess that Mandani’s success appeal lies less in the Democratic Socialist label and more in his clear understanding of the problems that actually keep people up at night and his relentlessness in reminding people what he’s doing to address them.
One underappreciated benefit of peer review is that it can give us new ideas. I recently had a paper rejected.
