What a good morning to say a huge thank you to CM Virginia Maloney in District 4 for supporting our demand to dedicate 0.5% of the city expense budget to our NYC library systems!
Thank you for being a library champion!

Yesterday Mayor Mamdani released his executive budget for FY27, and NYC PLAN is disappointed to see that it falls $97million short of his promise to fund our libraries at 0.5% of the city expense budget.
Our libraries deserve stable and increased funding, and we’re ready to continue this fight!
We’re thrilled that 11/51 Council Members know how important our libraries are, and are publicly supporting our call to dedicate 0.5% of NYC’s budget to libraries.
