...is this thing on? 20 years in tech news, 4 years as a Democratic elected official, and 15 minutes of fame on Bluesky. Here for political rambling, balanced takes on AI/tech, and a laugh or two.

No doubt Ed Zitron wasted an entire Better Offline on this actual legitimate research slop. Good read, Cliff's notes: the study is absolute bullshit. blog.andymasley.com/p/data-cente...
I am willing to bet that these same folks are hyperventilating on some of the same false stories that have sped through this network over the past few weeks. But that's a whole other problem.. or maybe it's not.
This really needs to be addressed. If there are peak periods, be forthcoming about it so we can choose another time. This daily changing concept of what is a session is getting somewhat aggravating. It really is my only beef with Anthropic, but it's a significant one.

OOH this is a good point. And there may be a very simple answer, just look how social networks have used AI.
If people literally looked at the website they'd realize this. This is laziness on their part, not Bluesky's. It's ALL there. It doesn't create a god damned thing. Sad that this needs to be explained to people like children because they're being intentionally ignorant.
You'd think Attie was murdering children to produce a personalized algorithm, the way some of these honestly unstable folks are acting. I am embarrassed by and for some of these folks. It's not normal behavior, and shouldn't be treated as such.
You know, there's a lot of "lemme put all this shit together and see if it works" kinda stuff happening around AI. No different than the mid 70s, when people were also trying to figure out what a computer in somebody's home meant. And even then, people thought the world would end. It didn't.
Such a move would likely lead to some kind of economic disaster for the US, either through direct sanctions (wouldn't blame people), or the loss of several key allies in the Gulf www.wsj.com/world/middle...
