I feel like it’s a risk for me to trust ANY publisher after my previous one fucked off with more than 20 grand of my earnings.
Yet *I* am the risk - as an author who has 2000+ readers who buy every book he writes - just because I temporarily decide to write in a shorter form? Pure insanity.

Publishers: “Short stories don’t sell and are impossible to market so we are not going to take the risk of publishing them.”
Also publishers: “What can we publish to fit this era of reduced attention spans when people are reading fewer novels?”
