Well, I think it's fair to say that this was a surprise for everyone involved.

My mum's been looking at my Bluesky account and reading replies to my posts. "There are some really nice, witty, clever people on there, aren't there?" she said. It's true & worth remembering. Trolls & reply guys & jokesplainers are here but they are not the norm. They're not what shapes this place.
Me, in cafe: "Do you have any vegetarian options?"
Person at till: "We have chicken."
Me: "Thanks but I will leave it. I find the leaves on chicken a little too bitter."
