Always a tricky topic, in 1782 there was a rare attempt by the House of Lords to try to prevent a new peerage being conferred on Lord George Germain as Viscount Sackville. The motion was defeated 61 to 26.
one thing I’d add is Andy’s not great at machine politics. Got blocked from G&D in part because he didn’t work to fix the NEC. He thought he was the union/left candidate in 2015 but lost that to Corbyn. He has advice from people who are better at it now, but it’s a big part of leading labour
