The problem with being 'nation-centric', for example "America First", is it ignores the problems that are bigger than national in scope. Most of our shared problems on our small blue planet are due to selfish short-term resource exploitation, mostly to fulfill personal inadequacy by a few.
The horror of Gaza of course deserves help. Ukraine is fighting the largest European war since WW2 and deserves help. Cuba deserves help. The DRC is struggling with Ebola. Our planetary geosystems are failing. The US system that served us well for decades is now failing. We need a new UN.

The problem with being 'anti-science' and 'anti-government' is there is then no critical thinking, or critical funding, or any common sense.
And then Screwworm appears again in Texas after 60 years. And then Polio alerts. And then this. People invented science and scientists for very good reasons.
