There are parts of Brooklyn where the best Jewish style deli food is at halal restaurants owned and operated by Yemeni Muslim immigrants who learned how to make wonderfully authentic brisket, pastrami, and corned beef.
It's so perfectly New York and sums up so much of what's great about this city.

Daughter hit a nasty pothole and popped a tire. A USPS truck pulled up, driver cheerfully helped her change in the spare.
She asked his name. “Call me Corn,” he said. “Like corn on the cob.” And drove off.
There are good people out there and some of them are named Corn.
