A lot of British world War 1 Commanders studied the US Civil War. JFC Fuller in his book Grant and Lee was very pro Grant and contemptous of Lee. Alfred Burne on the other hand in his book was Pro Lee and anti Grant
Basil Liddel Hart was neither and Pro Sherman
