Out on the campaign trail in Makerfield today with Parliamentary colleagues

This week along with almost 140 other Labour MPs I wrote to the Foreign Secretary demanding a ban on trade will illegal Israeli settlements. Illegal settlement expansion, and settler violence, are unacceptable and against international law. (1/2)

I joined the celebrations at Custom House Baptist Church this weekend for the official re-opening after 2 years of refurbishment. The newly expanded building looks fantastic and provides a great facilities for the local community. A great new chapter in their 111 year history!

We were able to support this constituent out of unsafe accommodation and progress their report of antisocial behaviour. Please get in contact if you are having issues and we will endeavour to help.

Yesterday, I was at the Queen Victoria Seamen’s Rest for the unveiling of the blue plaque for Kamal Chunchie. This is a long awaited memorial to Kamal Chunchie, a pioneering campaigner and preacher on a building that continues his work to provide shelter and support to all who need it.

Always great to join Royal Falcons FC for their presentation day to celebrate the success of the kids & dedication of Steve & Angela and the coaches. Grassroots sport is important in Newham and we’ve got talented youngsters. Clubs like this are an important to why we produce so many great players.

Today we went to see the new heritage centre and archives store based in a building that’s played a big part in our local history. It will have facilities for local people and historians and for events. Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches and for it open next year.

LFPME welcomes the measures announced yesterday - but they must be followed up with robust enforcement measures to ensure no UK entity is complicit in supporting illegal settlements.

Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East
