The Dakkajet is done. Just unfortunate that the kit was incomplete, so I’m missing the pilot. Maybe I can find the bits at some point and put him in.

Just received my gold winner pin from Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy. Still hard to believe that I managed that amongst so many other great painters. Now I need to find a nice display for the pin.

The Ork Trukk is done. It’s a cool model, but from all the old models I’ve ever built this one was the worst. But it’s still a cool addition to my collection.

Found out today that my Cthulhu won Gold in the Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy painting challenge for April. Feels a bit unreal to be honest. First time I won in a painting challenge.

Painted some checkers and details, added some decals and then did a gloss varnish layer. With the gloss dry I gave everything a black oil wash and cleaned it up once dry. When it’s fully dry tomorrow I can start adding the final details and highlights and work on the base.

Got my hands on an old Ork Trukk. Putting it together was not fun though, as do my parts either didn’t fit well or didn’t look like the piece in the instructions. I left it in subassemblies to make painting easier. It’ll look nice with the Bad Moons scheme.

Current WIP ii, on the Ork Trukk. Bad Moons colors look really good on vehicles. Also tried out the nail stamping plates to make the checker patterns.
Not quite perfect yet, but I'll keep practicing. Definitely a useful tool to have.

I’ve gotten messages about the yellow on my Orks. Here is a quick explanation. All over coat of pink, transparent red in shadows and white on highlight areas. Then yellow contrast or speedpaint all over. It’s very easy and quick to do.

I’ve finally finished the paint test on this guy. I’ll definitely use the green metallics on the new Defiler model once I get my hands on it. Maybe as an accent color on the leg armor. Should go nicely with the Pallid Hand scheme.
