Final Verdict: I like Marathon, but not enough to buy it, and the things that drag it down for me will never change because they are inherent to the kind of game Bungie wants this to be. It's a shame, but not that big of a deal because there's no shortage of great games out there right now.

I've put more time into the game, enough to get more used to the pacing and gameplay so I'm not always being killed by players and sometimes even kill other players, but my overall opinion hasn't really changed. It's fun when I get to play the game, and not fun when I get unceremoniously murdered.

Finally had a chance to play Marathon again for real. The short of it is that, I was actually having a lot of fun until it started throwing me into the regular PVP lobbies and now I'm not having fun anymore. I have more thoughts on this, but Marathon is a tiring subject to discuss.
