NYTimes has coverage today of the end of funding for the AI and Weather institute led by @profamymcgovern.bsky.social
We were so lucky to have her on the Livestream last year to speak about the institute, and the many ways it was helping forecasters (& turtles!): www.youtube.com/live/NMa7P6M...

Scroll down and you'll see a picture of our walk team- we stopped in on our way to Capitol Hill
We really appreciate what these folks are doing to make something that feels huge and abstract into something tangible, that lets you see and interact with the impacts of climate change on human life
That's a wrap!
- 50 hours of science + calling Congress
- 300 letters given to Congress after a 250-mile walk
We provided the templates and our viewers and supporters injected their voices.
And like last year, we feel so uplifted by our community.
Thank you for spending your time with us
Hour 42/50! With a talk about wildfires. I popped in during hour 40 for penguins. And the community in the chat is phenomenal.
Meanwhile, our walk team is in their final 3 miles and has ~300 letters! And more members of Congress want to chat then can fit in the Capitol schedule.
Another day, another great ENSO talk!
If you're curious about the economic consequences of stronger El Niño events in the future, check out this excellent talk from Prof. Christopher Callahan: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX-v...
If you like what you see, call your reps! 5calls.org/issue/weathe...
"Salawitch gave a lecture on the livestream at 1 a.m., 12 hours before meeting up with Foisy for his recorded interview."
Once again: we are so grateful for our community- everyone who gave a talk, watched, or met us on our walk. And especially those who did all three!
