Speaking of maps, here’s the actual grid paper map with scene identifiers that I reference all the time while working on the game. #playdate
Other debug stuff: the "13" in the corner of the pause view is the ID of the scene we're currently in. Also, there is a quick shortcut to get the current world coordinates (i.e, where is the player standing?) by docking or un-docking the crank.
Here's an example of the state stuff I mentioned in this thread.
The whole world is keyed on state, and I have debug methods that force the game into another state for testing. For example, this is the playground before the mailman loses his job, and after. #playdate
