This made me laugh so hard.
Last week a dear friend found out she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was weeping. What would the treatment be? would she survive? what about her family? Will she be disfigured? Will there be pain?
Things she did NOT have to cry about: the cost of treatment. Not one bit. Because Canada.
Three years ago tomorrow, I very nervously gave this speech. I knew my career as a TV journalist was dunzo, cooked, filleted, kaput the morning I wrote it. (Thanks to Kat insisting I go for it anyway.)
