He pulls out a small potted poinsettia plant and offers it to her.
"A small present for a charming lady."
"Like shooting fish in a barrel, pardon the expression."
He chuckled darkly before his eyes narrowed.
"That burnt menace has my daughter held captive..."
He took the files and glanced over each one.
"Ahh yes, I have come across Miss Lee before. She almost got inside the Wraith."
A visible sneer as he tucks the files underneath his arm.
"Of course, there is something I'd ask in return for my assistance..."
"Impressive. In all my long years, I have yet to come across a mercreature. It seems you'll be getting that rare opportunity soon."
Charlie set his cane down on top of Elizabeth's desk before he ran a gloved hand lightly along the side of the chamber.
"I've sent my sons to collect the rest of our wayward family in the meantime, can't be too careful. But the dream demon is tricky, I need to play this close to the chest."
Charlie stared into her eyes.
"Any father would raise hell to save their own. And I will do anything to save my sugarplum."
"I thought the deep red of my favorite flower would go so well with your decor."
He bows slightly before walking around the new contraption.
