1020PM: A new severe storm has perked up near Maverick, south of Bronte, moving northeast at 25 MPH toward Bradshaw and Winters. Large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and a light show are expected. So far, no other rowdy storms at the moment. That may change overnight. ~David
5:55PM - The Storm Prediction Center is suggesting that a severe storm watch may be issued for Texoma, North Texas, and the Big Country. As the evening unfolds, we can expect some strong winds, obnoxiously frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall. Let’s stay alert as these storms make their way east!

Tropical Storm Arthur is near the Texas coast, but most Texas impacts are limited now.
The heavier rain is shifting east. Coastal flooding, rip currents, and gusty winds remain possible near the upper coast, but dangerous heat becomes the bigger issue Thursday.

Thursday is likely to be the hottest day so far this year across several Texas cities. Heat index values above 120 degrees are possible in South Texas, with oppressive humidity. How about near 110 degrees for air temperatures in the Big Country, Concho Valley, and Permian Basin? ~David

Arthur is now a tropical storm near the Texas coast, but several Texas impacts are winding down, but not over just yet. Remaining issues are mainly along the Upper Texas Coast and Golden Triangle with rain bands, coastal flooding, and gusty winds.
