They have been trying to silence me since I was a child -- and YET -- I still speak truth to power. Tying this to my larger project, "Black Girls Dream in Public," with my best friend, Dr. Christina Tillary, for our Plait/Form incubator. She also has a similar story from the SAME school system.

Another thing that has stood out for me is the lack of consideration, love, and support that we get yet we are still expected to show up for everyone else. This is an all spaces, not just romantic relationships or friendships. People will drain you. Leave us the fuck alone.
This week I have been in deep community with other brilliant Black women and femmes. The main thing that has come up repeatedly is how much people want from us without considering how we feel.

The current cycle has closed because it reached the max, but they also have emergency grant options. This is a good resource to keep on hand if you are a person with autism and also non-white!
