In my experience, to “pull a bhgreeley” is to take seven years to write a book on a one-year contract, while quitting your perfectly good job in journalism to start a PhD. I don’t know that I necessarily recommend it.

A sovereign wealth fund with stakes in AI companies is an offense to sovereign wealth funds. To provide a benefit to Americans, the companies would have to run a profit! They don't! A federal stake in OpenAI and Anthropic would be a rhetorical device, to discourage any actual regulatory control.
