This report was actually compiled DURING the Tory government's time in office, but they CHOSE to BURY it to save themselves the "political embarrassment of revealing the huge scale of misdirected funds"

So this pre-bunk is to use against the inevitable Tory/Reform MPs who will share the headline online and claim it has anything to do with Labour.
And for those who inadvertently believe - from that headline - that the "secret government report" is about the current government.

This was a report that showed that £28bn of government money ended up going to "Britain's enemies" - organised crime, Russia, Chinese military and Islamic State
It takes a few paragraphs before it becomes clear that this happened between 2015 and 2021.

This comes after the news that taxpayers lost £10.9bn to fraud and errors made by the Conservatives' pandemic response.
Fortunately, this government have appointed someone to actually try and recover some of those funds👍🏻

And yes, I'm sure this didn't all stop happening in 2021.
Or even in 2024 when Labour came in.
But it does *sound* like they have more of a handle on what's going on than the previous lot! 🤷♀️
