Totally agree – horizontal slices, prototypes of all shapes, and many ephemeral design tools make a ton of sense but vertical slices are a trap.

I've always despised the concept of a vertical slice in game dev
It doesn't make sense for cakes, illustrations, buildings, music, cars, food, clothes
It doesn't apply to anything we can create or produce
And yet every studio talks about it as if it made perfect sense

"Vertical slice" has always been a flawed concept, and the clue was in the name the whole time: you can't have a slice until you've baked the whole damn cake.
