I love to see how connected the world of the past already was. Card games can be traced in how they travelled around the globe, transforming into new games here and there (and then). We only know the inventors of a few recent ones. Before that, we can see trade routes transported culture.
Totally agree – horizontal slices, prototypes of all shapes, and many ephemeral design tools make a ton of sense but vertical slices are a trap.
