Yeah, he's basically just angrily pointing to good examples of past comics, as if Waid said that there are no good old comics.

Marvel Comics pulls the Amazing Spider-Man #1000 painted cover by John Romita Jr and Paolo Rivera... will the internet shrug it off?
My guess is that Rich Johnson just didn't read a press release properly, ignored that the Romita cover was credited in that very release, ignored that it was ALSO credited in today's solicitations, and just ran with the "news".
But I suspect the article will remain up and the lie will spread.
