What do fin whales, curlews, seagrass and oysters have in common?
They rely on healthy marine environments. 🌊🌍
This #WorldOceansDay, we're celebrating marine species and highlighting projects that protect them. From Blue Corridors and Restoration Forth to saltmarsh research (watch this space 👀).
A moment for marvellous moths...
Did you know Scotland is home to over 1,500 moth species? These fuzzy and often overlooked insects play an important role as night-time pollinators. 🌙
They're also attracted to honeysuckle (seen below!). Its sweet scent helps draw them in. 🦋 #Nature #Wildlife
Thanks to MSPs from all political parties who joined to hear our asks, speak with attendees and pledge to protect nature. Here are just a few that came along. ⬇️
@mareetodd.bsky.social, Finlay Carson, Yi-Pei Chou Turvey, @ariane-burgess.bsky.social, @clairebakermsp.bsky.social & Graham Simpson.
Wildlife's top squad... from the sharp instincts of the Scottish wildcat to the tenacity of the robin, each species has been picked for the qualities that would make them great footballers.
As Scotland's men's team head into the World Cup, we wish them the very best of luck! ⚽ #WorldCup2026
We joined fellow nature lovers with one clear message: nature needs action! 🌿
With a new @parliament.scot elected, this is a chance for MSPs to turn promises into progress for wildlife, people & climate.
The demo gave hope that together, we can bring our world back to life. 🌍 @scotlink.bsky.social
June means one thing: it's prime badger spotting season! 🦡
Although they're mostly active after dark, warm summer evenings offer a chance to see these elusive creatures foraging just before sunset. ✨ #Nature #Wildlife

Did you know that puffins usually dive to around 30m to catch prey, although they can reach depths of up to 60m?
As they dive, air trapped in their feathers compresses under pressure, sometimes releasing tiny bubbles that trail behind them – looking like an underwater comet! 💙

Climate news: Scotland's 2024 greenhouse gases fell by just 1%. 📉
This disappointing progress highlights the lack of bold action by the Scottish Government in cutting climate emissions.
Tackling how we heat our homes can end our reliance on unstable fossil fuels prices and help reach #NetZero. 🏠
