Finished this by @stevebrusatte.bsky.social today and loved it, as a birder and a historian. Tells the story of how birds came to be, how they function, but also how scientists figured this all out. A great example of popularising research without dumbing it down too much. #birds
Got my hands on the latest by @stevebrusatte.bsky.social who gave a delightful talk all about the wonders of bird evolution! Very excited to delve into it!!

My wife loves birds. I’m a dinosaur nerd.
Perfect. Can’t wait to read it
Palaeontologist Steve Brusatte's The Story of Birds offers an excellent and sometimes startling account of bird evolution, finds Michael Marshall

These prehistoric creatures still exist — you just have to look up, says the palaeontologist Steve Brusatte in The Story of Birds
