Which in practice means robust federal funding in China. Not throwing shade -- by the numbers they're just *much* bigger than Japan, Korea, etc.
The CGF barrier falling perplexes me too. If I see Korean colleagues at SIGGRAPH, I will ask them about it. (Or maybe some are here????)
