To be clear, I’m sure you could
make that book more readable.
I just think that ship has perhaps sailed.
Think I may have seen a giant sawfly go into our wood pile. Do I:
a) trust my powers of identification, safe in the knowledge that this is a harmless insect, and move the logs around to get rid of it
b) cower inside, on the basis that it might be a hornet instead?
Nice email today from somebody offering to make a book I published over 20 years ago more readable.
Honoured to be a co-editor of this new series with Katrina who has led its development. We’ve got some great titles in progress already but we are keen to receive more proposals which address the series’ broad remit. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have an early modern project in mind.

I had the pleasure of joining Clare Jackson and Teresa Bejan to talk about the Levellers on In Our Time. The episode will be out this Thursday. Profs Bejan and Jackson offered expert insight. I, at least, was wearing an appropriate t-shirt: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...
