Really excellent work by the bluesky-less Marie and Sara +coauthors in our lab @embl.org! Check it out for cool combinations of light microscopy and #cryoET, and if you're interested in how yeasts reorganize structurally in response to stressors. #teamtomo
People interested in the VPP aspects should also see a recent paper (from the people at Biohub) showing that tilt-series alignments can be improved with phase plate usage. journals.iucr.org/m/issues/202...
We @embl.org wrote a short preprint about optimizing for maximum completeness in #cryoet analysis. We looked at template matching, VPP imaging, and tilt-series refinement parameters, and why averaging ribosomes helps even if you aren’t interested in their biology 🏭 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
