If you want a pretty decent retro-style F1-esque racer then New Star GP is probably the one to go for. Handling and racing is genuinely fun, graphics hit all the right notes, and the career mode has some depth without going into tedious detail. Pretty good value for £10.
Anyone feeling "£695 and no MOT since 2018 project Safrane" brave? www.facebook.com/marketplace/...
Apparently the fact it had any in it at all is a sign it wasn't leaking though (as if there was a leak, the pressure would push it *all* out), it's just evaporated out over time. Probably hadn't been serviced for years.
Still going strong at 170k. If diesel wasn't so expensive at the mo and tax on older stuff not so painful I'd be quite tempted by this. Seems looked-after bar little bits of rust, MOT history's decent (though outstanding recall - Takata?), and looks smart in red www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/...
Quite the choice of words given the subject matter.
Had to double check. Not actually as fast as last year's event - 381 laps, compared to 387 - but more cars on the lead lap, with seven compared to four.
Most laps completed is still 1971 and 2010 (397), and most cars finishing on the lead lap was nine, in 2024.
After writing this a month or so ago I discovered in the hotter weather that the aircon in the MX-5 was indeed *actually* shit even when I did turn it on, so got it serviced today. Only had about 1/10th the refrigerant it should've done. More effective now, unsurprisingly.
Trying driving game demos in Steam Next Fest so you don't have to:
Formula 2.5: Retro-style F1 racer. Has the 80s style but short on Pole Position/Outrun style fun.
Slow Roads: Procedurally generated drive-endlessly thing. Smooth and chilled but possibly a bit *too* devoid of gameplay.
Also red, also neat. Have owned an Insight before and they're great. Would have another, but not sure now is the right time (despite excellent economy). Firm ride, low performance, and low-slung body are all qualities I'm wanting to avoid this time around www.facebook.com/marketplace/...
Also also red, much sillier. Yes, that engine is what you think it is, though no, it's not powering all four wheels www.facebook.com/marketplace/...
