It's like the rich and powerful will fall to decadence, and the working class doesn't actually know what's good for them, and the solution is this humble hero from above to mediate between them. Then prostitution will also be solved because women can finally become good mothers (???).
I like Metropolis the movie, so I was curious about the book.
I also think it's pretty good but it does make it quite obvious why the Nazis gravitated so much towards it because it's like peak fascist propaganda.
The Tower of Babel fable being reframed as the workers being unhappy to slave away at the vision of the powerful (and so words of glory sound like oppression to them, thus communication issues) is really quite good though.
