people who use claude just sound to me like dudes in the 1950s being like "oh no I smoke the brand of cigarette that's good for your lungs"
I think what makes the commentariat so vulnerable to this is that AI is almost like an attack on intellectual arrogance. If you trust your own impressions too much you are inherently vulnerable to a statistical model designed to find the sequence of words that'll convince you that it's smart.

Genuinely I think what explains a lot of this flavor of handwringing, the sort of irrational rage of AI boosters at people making fun of them, etc, is that the people doing it are living in the most effective cognitive bubble ever constructed
Oh nevermind fuckley has gone full blown idiot and is now propagating claims along the lines of "LLMs are the next industrial revolution" and "LLMs are the printing press", which are just... deranged honestly
