She nods while following his words. "Yes, like the old saying about even the best strategy more often than not barely surviving enemy contact. I like to try stay sharp; hope to at least." Now walking alongside him she wonders about his own methods of approaching obstacles.
She smiles back at him. "No need to thank me. I know what it's like to lose people, and what it's like to be unable to help.
I think accepting limits is the toughest part for all of us."

His question admittedly surprises her. Usually her points of view are seen as eccentric by many, and nor seldom disregarded. "I... Am building my own thoughts. Or at least try to. I think there is value in *all* thoughts, and I know that is not necessarily what everyone likes to hear."
She pauses; trying to phrase her thoughts as well as one can in the face of war and loss as universal tools to shape minds. "...I'm recovering from the untimely death of my Master; reflecting upon motives of allies and enemies alike and try to find the truth somewhere in between."
For a moment Xen stops, thinking about his point of view before she eventually nods.
His cough did not escape her attention but she decides to not address it and perhaps make him uncomfortable.
"Maybe? Maybe not? ...You come from one of the worlds the Republic punished particularly hard, correct?"
Her gaze falls back onto her own hands; nimble little green tools ultimately unable to help much with anything...
"...But what about you? How are *you* holding up these days?"
With a little smile she nods in agreement. "Emotions are one of people's greatest tools. I think at the end of the day it's all a question how one uses a tool; in a similar manner you'd ask upon handing someone a blaster.
