The interesting thing about the command deck-based Kingdom Hearts games is that their methods of acquiring new skills are superficially similar, but while Birth by Sleep's command melding system is very fast (maybe too fast!), managing your Dream Eaters in DDD is a huge pain in the ass.
"Pause every ten minutes to pet your controller," big empty box worlds for you to bounce around in, the floatiest combat in the series. Feels kind of like a prototype for KH3, for better or for worse. I'm hoping KH4 will further refine the kind of free-form movement they were going for here.
Honestly, I think Dream, Drop, Distance is the best 6/10 I've ever played? I have a lot of fun with it, even though it is kind of a bad video game.

I am a *huge* sucker for DS-era touchscreen gimmicks so having to pet/feed/play with your Dream Eaters is something I can get behind conceptually! But coming hot off of BBS I'm just like "I want Second Chance, why are you making me play tennis with a snail."
