The aorist was specifically being created in a complete but not quite final way by the devil. It’s an evil verbal form and any language that has it is a degenerate language that should be destroyed! Yes, I sed it!
The primacy of the conflict with the East (Tūran) in Sasanian and post-Sasanian sources is an evidence for the argument that for the Sasanians, the conflict w the East was more crucial than the one with the West/Rome, contrary to what modern historiography continually reinforces.

In Azeri Turki, the word for a “town” is kəd(d) (cf. Turk. Kent “town”), a loanword from Sogdian kənt (as in čāč kənd “city of Čač, Tashkent” or Samarkant). The redoubled -d (as in kəddī “rustic, uncouth”) is due to /n/ elimination. A good reminder of old Sogdian-Türk alliance.
