The WellBN case is a scandal because it's the NHS and because of the age of the children. But the practices described here are standard in private gender clinics for vulnerable young people over 18 too. The NHS then "imports" their poor practice by agreeing to prescribe via shared care agreements.

More than 20 children were given medication without a face-to-face appointment. None of the staff investigated were professionally competent to put children on gender medication. Necessary blood tests were often not carried out, putting children's physical health at risk. Poor record keeping.
